The Illusion of Creation and the Truth of Awareness
You in there, beyond the mind and body, are the Creator

I want to share something on my heart lately—this idea that we often mistake the created for the Creator. Romans 1:25-26 says, "They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised."
Everything under the sun is created. But what isn’t? The beginning and the end. The essence of who we are—Awareness.
The Worship of Creation Over the Creator
Your ego is a creation that you worship. It’s a construct, an ingrained identity you cling to as if it were you. Your body, too, is created. You are not your body—you live with a body. But in our attachment to these aspects of self, we mistake the created for the Creator.
Yet within you, beyond the body and mind, lies Awareness—pure, unchanging, eternal. You are aware of thoughts, emotions, and identity, but you are not them. You are the observer. When you recognize this, you begin to loosen the grip of illusion.
Here are three questions to help you investigate this deeper:
Three Inquiries into Awareness
1️⃣ When You Sleep, Where Are You? Have you ever woken up and thought, I slept so deeply, I didn’t even dream? How do you know this if you were not present? An awareness exists beyond the mind—a presence beyond thought.
2️⃣ Who Has Preferences? You might say, I’ve never liked tomatoes. But who doesn’t like them? You are aware of the preference, but have you questioned it? If you are observing the preference, then who is truly experiencing it? Awareness perceives but is not bound by it.
3️⃣ Who Holds Beliefs? Your beliefs are a collection of thoughts, yet you take them as truth. Why do you believe what you believe? Who told you to? Many claim they "know," but do they? Thinking you know is different from knowing.
The Ultimate Truth Lies Within
We each live in our universe, shaped by perceptions and experiences. But the ultimate truth is not "out there." Everything external is a creation. The Creator is Awareness—the silent witness to all that arises and falls away.
To return to Awareness is to exchange illusion for truth. It’s to cease worshiping the created and rest in the eternal.
If this resonates with you, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Hit reply and let me know—have you ever experienced moments where you felt yourself as pure awareness, beyond thought and identity?
With love and presence, Lisa
I have. Late at night, and cloudless sky. I see absolutely everything in 3-D. Where I am, the Earth, the Milky Way and beyond. I'm aware of all I can see and that I can see eternity. From me to no end. I'm aware of so much. I'm part of the universe. A way for the universe to know itself.
